Precious Talents

Muma Gee

isters Introduces

The Emerging Queen of African Music

This beautiful and sensational singer known as Uwame was a special gif to her proud parents Mr and Mrs Okachukwu some twenty -five years ago. Muma Gee is a native of the Ekpeye tribe in Ahoada East Local Government area of Rivers state. This young vibrant lady has spent most of are life nurturing dreams of becoming an international artiste some day.
This dream was hatched against a background of intense poverty occasioned by the loss of her father at an early age leaving the entire burden on her mother to raise six kids in harsh conditions. Despite all this, Muma Gee's dreams of becoming a renowned musical artiste were never put into doubt.

Her dreams kept her inspiration charged up, wishing rather to remain in the confines of dreams to enable her live out the resounding successes, which she constantly saw herself celebrating some day. Containing this talent became ever so difficult even after gaining admission into the University of Abuja to read computer science. This was temporary as she finally moved down south where she went back into academics to pursue a degree in Creative Arts at the University of Port Harcourt.
Through thick and thin, the ever-ambitious Muma stayed put enough to reach the heights of emergence upon which she is today. As she quotes…I have been in music for a very long time and it has been very rough .I was never discouraged and its just normal that things don't always go well.
Then came Chief Colin Dixon, her financial sponsor. Like the proverbial abandoned baby, Colin literally picked her up from the dungs of talent abuse. His intervention opened up a new avenue of expression for her. He has been behind her financially, morally and educationally.
Now she is no more a budding talent, but a known one who has achieved some measure of success. She has played her music in different continents amongst dignitaries and celebrities around the world with her band known as Black Attraction.

She was awarded a scholarship for a wonderful performance at the launching of her second album titled,"Grass to Grace" by Dr Peter Odili, Governor of Rivers State to further her research and education in music.

Muma, who sings in the Ekpeye tongue also reels out melodies in English, but most importantly she sings with her soul with the powerful rhythm of African drums and saxophone.

Muma Gee's music asserts and re-asserts africaness and most importantly her songs are original, written and composed by her and also she is very proud to be a Nigerian and African.

she will be performing in a fantastic Concert on the 18th of September with the renowned musical legend Mariam Makeba at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

This show is being put together Joyful Noise, a London based promotional company headed by the renowned promoter Biyi Adepegba.
