The Amazing Crusade

War Against Human Trafficking

The Journey Begins…
Right from that fateful October 11, 1999 when God has placed it in the heart of the wife of the Vice President, Her Excellency Chief (Mrs.) Amina Titi Atiku Abubakar to ginger stake holders to put on their weapons of warfare against perpetrators of evil against Women and Children in Nigeria. The country has not remained the same to Human Traffickers. Then came the birth of a Non-Governmental Organisation - Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF) to sail the CRUSADE through to the Promise Land.

Before then, the traffickers were doing this shameless worst form of slavery, as if the trade was legitimate in Nigeria. Unfortunately the citizenry wallowed in ignorance of these activities.
However, with the formation of WOTCLEF and subsequent nationwide campaign, people have come to realise the great danger and the abuse to human dignity posed by such acts.
Human Trafficking:
Human Trafficking is the act of transporting human beings especially women and children from one place to the other. They are usually done through coercion, enticement and deception with some material gain on the side of the transporters or agents as the case may be. Victims are trafficked for different purposes like prostitution, marriage, forced labour, begging and rituals.

Since the beginning of WOTCLEF, several Nigerian girls abroad, who have been repatriated, thoroughly abused and dehumanised, have been given hope and life through rehabilitation, counselling, education, as well as micro credits facilities, by WOTCLEF. Also in the case of Child labour, many children that were forced into labour and deprived of human right, have been rescued, catered for, and put to school for a better life by the organisation.

Still Sailing...
Apart from rescuing and catering for the victims, WOTCLEF is keen to making sure there is total eradication of such horrible trade. As part of the moves towards this, WOTCLEF has drafted a Bill known as "THE NATIONAL AGENCY FOR TRAFFICKED PERSONS LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ADMINISTARTION ACT" (NATPLEAS ACT) to the National House of Assembly. This bill is to make Nigeria move in line with certain International Conventions and also to toughen penalties against the perpetrators.

Gisters.com and her sister company Lasertech, are joining WOTCLEF in the crusade to fight the war against this modern form of slavery 'HUMAN TRAFFICKING'. Also we are encouraging all our readers to join this crusade, to make our world, a free and a better place to live.
