THE MAN TERRY WAYA

About Terry
"I was born into the family of Pa Daniel and Monica Waya on the 3rd of May 1961. I am a native of Gboko, Benue State in the former Northern region of Nigeria but grew up in Kaduna. I have two lovely children from my marriage, but I am now separated from their mother".

Life as a Socialite and Businessman
"My social and business lives are not separate, as most of the people I do business with are also my friends. Many of my business deals are sealed at social events and parties. Most of my contacts and friends date back to my school days".

Political Ambition
"I don't have any political ambitions because I am more of a King maker than a King and you cannot do two things at once in life. You have to find one thing that you are good at, recognise it and stick to what you know. If you try to leave your place you could be unsuccessful and then on turning back to your previous role there will be no place for you".

Terry's reaction to rumours surrounding his "owambe" birthday bash
"I feel everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and I see nothing wrong with people coming to celebrate my birthday with me".

People's perception of Nigerians
"If there is one thing I would like to change, it is the image Nigerians have all over the world which has made life a misery for many legitimate people who have worked hard to earn their money. The minute you can afford something expensive people start to question the source of your money".

Advice to young businessmen
"You should be careful how you treat people. Life is so unpredictable and you never know, the man you think is nothing today could be something tomorrow"
