The Second Black Heritage Festival was celebrated recently in Badagry Lagos.
The Black Heritage Festival is a symbolic and a great celebration of events to showcase the socio- cultural heritage of the people of the state and of the black race in diaspora. It is an opportunity to re-integrate our black brothers and sisters to their native land.

The event was organised by Lagos State Waterfront and Tourism Development Corporation.

The festival was conceived to advance the slave route project initiated by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to create a cultural heritage to the world.
Delegates made up of blacks from America, Brazil and Jamaica attended this year's event.
Highlights of this festival included: guided tours of heritage sites, slave port, slave market, slave relics, monuments and the point of no return; initiation ceremony including Ethnic Adoption, name giving and special prayer and traditional service for the deceased captives and their progenitors.

The festival was a celebration for all blacks in the world for the emancipation from slavery and injustice.
