In
the words of Bobby Syed, the brain behind EMMA, 'It
has grown successfully since 1997 due to the unsung heroes
who have sacrificed their time, money and reputation to
believe in celebrating multicultural harmony'.
The Award ceremony which represents global multicultural
excellence had among other winners Ms Dynamite, Justin Timberlake,
Angela Griffin, Ria Lina, Lennox Lewis and a host of others.
|
Awards were presented by a variety of personalities including
Conservative Party Leader Ian Duncan Smith, actress Angela
Griffin, 'Old School' actor Anthony Anderson, Chris Bisson,
John Fashanu of "I'm a Celebrity Get Me
out of Here", Chris Eubank, Michelle Gayle
and a host of others.
Artists like Darius, Big Brovaz and Sonique treated the guests
to different live music performances to spice up the evening. |
The night climaxed with the presentation of the NatWest
EMMA Lifetime Award which went to the famous composer,
arranger, singer, producer, keyboardist, and probably the
most recognisable music legend in the world, Stevie Wonder.
The NatWest EMMA Legend Award went to the
late leader of America's greatest non-violent Movement and
Ambassador for Racial Justice and Equality Rev. Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. The award was received by his grand daughter,
