It It was a glamorous winter evening on the 17th of March 2007 at the Hotel Ibis London Earls Court, London as Ghanaians in the UK joined their President His Excellency John Kufour to celebrate the Ghana's fifty years of independence with Golden Jubilee Independence Dinner Dance.

It was a very colourful evening as the venue was draped in the red, yellow and green colour of the Ghanaian national flag. The attending guests also make the occasion more colourful with their colourful traditional attire that can only be seen back on the streets of Accra, Kumasi etc

Guests were ushered into the event with melodious Ghanaian traditional music performed by a traditional band and while seated waiting patiently for the arrival of the President, there were few body gyration to the flow of music being dished out by the Ghanaian Community Band.

The President walked in exactly 9:30pm accompanied by top dignitaries and the atmosphere changed to carnival like immediately as guests proudly sang the Ghanaian National Anthem to officially commence the event of the evening

While delivering his speech for the evening, the President talks about his government's achievements in the areas of Education, Infrastructures, Health and Community Developments etc. He was given a standing ovation at the end of his speech.

Finally he encouraged the Ghanaians living in the U.K to visit home to testify to all what he claimed and promised them that maximum security is in place. After his speech he was called to the dance floor with his wife and they both danced till the event was over.
