The Kanu Heart Foundation celebrated its first year in existence with an Anniversary Award & Fundraising Dinner at the magnificent Hilton Metropole in West London recently. This is a pet project of the Nigerian footballer, Nwankwo Kanu of Arsenal FC. The event was well attended by some of his English premier league colleagues as well as a host of other celebrities. |

Some of the guests included manager Arsene Wenger of Arsenal, the CEO of Merryll Lynch, the parents of the late Damilola Taylor and some important dignitaries. Cultural groups such as the Oja Rhythms and the Descendants London African Children's Choir, spiced the evening up with their traditional performances. Top London fashion designer Adebayo Jones, also displayed his collections at the event. It was a successful night as over £2 million was raised from donations and auctions. |
