	The Women of Nigeria International held a launch event for its organisation in London recently. It marked the launching of the Directory of Nigerian Associations in London and Nigerian Diplomatic and Consular Missions worldwide. The event hosted by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, was in recognition of the positive contributions of Nigerians towards the socio-economic life of London in particular and in the UK as a whole.

The Directory which is an attempt to bridge the cultural gap within the Nigerian community and the provider of various services within the Nigerian community and the various associations structured around the ethnic diversity of Nigeria was dedicated to integrating the Nigerian community into the UK wider community. The event coincided with the Nigerian 43rd Independence Celebration, Black History Month and the Mayor's celebration of London's Black Heritage.
